Editorial Reviews:

tres„pass \'trespes\ n: a transgression of law involving one's obligations to God or to one's neighbor; a violation of moral law; an offense; a sin
-Webster's New International Dictionary, Second Edition, Unabridged

In what may be her most unsettling novel to date, Sue Grafton's T is for Trespass is also her most direct confrontation with the forces of evil. Beginning slowly with the day-to-day life of a private eye, Grafton suddenly shifts from the voice of Kinsey Millhone to that of Solana Rojas, introducing readers to a chilling sociopath. Rojas is not her birth name. It is an identity she cunningly stole, an identity that gives her access to private caregiving jobs. The true horror of the novel builds with excruciating tension as the reader foresees the awfulness that lies ahead. The suspense lies in whether Millhone will realize what is happening in time to intervene.

Though set in the late eighties, T is for Trespass could not be more topical: identity theft; elder abuse; betrayal of trust; the breakdown in the institutions charged with caring for the weak and the dependent. It reveals a terrifying but all-too-real rip in the social fabric. Once again, Grafton opens up new territory with startling results.

Summary: Sue Grafton's "T"
Comment: I love Sue Grafton's alphabetic series, and thought this was one of the best. Will be looking forward to "U".

Summary: Boring - Not Her Best
Comment: I love Sue Grafton's books, I have read all of them but this one is too slow moving for me. It is just boring, I can hardly finish it. It's a mystery book but you know how it's going to end, not much of a mystery there. This is not Sue's best book.

Summary: I'm glad I went back
Comment: I found the last two alphabet mysteries a bit boring and had decided to drop Sue Grafton from my fave writers list. I'm glad I took a chance with "Trespass". It was a great read! Highly recommended!

Summary: T is for "trite"
Comment: Thank goodness I bought this at BJ's as a discounted paperback. I am exactly at chapter 18 and wonder if Ms. Grafton has farmed this out to a ghost writer. The recipe is linear, the spice a poor excuse for a villianess and the rest of the offering are leftovers from the previous backgrounds of A-S. Maybe Ms. Grafton is just "trying" to fulfill a contract requirement but how about quality as a perfromance indicator not just number of words, meeting deadlines, and filling the particular roles in a novel. I don't think I'll be finishing this, can already figure the end game and its "P" for pointless.

Summary: THE PRINT IS MICROSCOPIC
Comment: I can't really give a review for this book because I was unable to read it without getting a headache!! The print is so SMALL that you have to squint to try to read it. The book might be wonderful like all of the other books that Sue Grafton has published. I have enjoyed every other book by this author - and I have read them all. I don't know why the publishers produce an excellent book with print that can't be read easily. YES - I can see well - just not this microscopic print. The publishers should be put in a room and be made to try to read this small type! Maybe they would change their ways.
