Often appearing in repose and with a gracious air, Kuan Yin is a deeply worshipped female deity in Chinese Pure Land Buddhism. This bodhisattva answers prayers, petitions, and pleas for help far and wide. This box becomes your personal altar, including a figurine of the "Bodhisattva of Compassion" and a beautifully illustrated book revealing her fascinating history, the miracles she has performed, and instructions on how to seek her guidance.

Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful book with petite statue! Comment: This is a beautiful, inspiring book. The small statue is delicate, with pretty details. The statue looks very nice when displayed. I am very pleased with the book and statue. I find them very comforting.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Intro to Goddess of Compassion Comment: This set was exactly what I was looking for and exactly as described. I was delighted with it and my daughters can't put down the little statue.
Customer Rating: Summary: Quiet Beauty Comment: I bought this set mostly for the little statue, but I like the book, it's full of lovely images of Kuan Yin. The statue itself is quite pretty. This would make a nice gift, or an addition to a home altar.
Customer Rating: Summary: Do NOT rely upon this Book Comment: I ordered this Kit so I could review it for my students.
Although the Statue is lovely
the book that comes with it
is full of glaring errors.
If someone wants an introduction to the Buddha of Compassion
they are far better off with:
"The Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones"
by Dilgo Khyentse
"Chenrezig, Lord of Love: Principles and Methods of Deity Meditation"
by Bokar Rinpoche
or
"Trainings in Compassion : Manuals on the Meditation of Avalokiteshvara"
by Tyler Dewar
Thank you.

Customer Rating: Summary: An excellent introduction to Kwan Yin Comment: I really like this set. A relatively inexpensive introduction to Kwan Yin for those who are interested in her but don't have a lot of money to spend. It even includes a statue and an "instant shrine".
