Editorial Reviews:

"the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu MIND SET"

Tackles the age old question , what makes a Champion ? And in the context of Jiu-jitsu , what gives a Champion his confidence ?

Montanha offers a lighthearted look at a serious component of the Ground Grappling Game with interesting commentary , storys and training tips . From his time chronicling the techniques and teaching methods of the now famous "Gracie Sport Center" and "GracieFighter" Fight Team , Montanha's observations lend a unique view into a Champion's Mind .

Many examples of this MIND SET , of these Jiu-jitsu players are illustrated with Techniques from positions like ; The Guard/Half Guard/Pass the Guard/Getting the Back/The Sprawl/North-South/Knee on the Stomach/the Mount/and Side Control .

Much like the added instruction and commentary of a private lesson over taking a group class .

Summary: unbelievable
Comment: i can't believe someone dares publish a book like this.

Few techniques with some commentary full of ortographic and sintactic mistakes. Worth less than 3 dollars.

Truly unbelievable also someone gives it 5 stars...

Summary: Outstanding sequel
Comment: This book greatly complements "The Techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu", Montanha's encylcopedia of jiu jitsu techniques released in 2003.

Where Montanha's first book focuses predominately on capturing a large amount of techniques, this book contains more insight into the state of mind in practicing and competing in jiu jitsu. It's one part Zen, one part Strategy, one part Tactics and one part Lore.

If you've bought the first book, consider this an inexpensive "Behind the scenes" tour that will add to your appreciation of the raw techniques. If you haven't purchased the first book yet, consider this an introduction to the techniques, culture and mindset of the academy that has produced such notable martial artists as Nick Diaz, David Terrell, Steve Heath and Gil Castillo. The price is good enough - give it a try!
