Customer Rating: Summary: Not for those with training Comment: I gave this book 3 stars. The description made it sound like it was something other than what it was. The book brushes lightly over 4th adm. Its a decent go over for someone with no background in the topic but not for a LEO.
Customer Rating: Summary: Real World Search & Seizure Comment: Matt Medina's handbook is a street guide for the working peace officer: a breezy, enjoyable read, yet touching all aspects of Fourth Amendment search and seizure. Medina is a highly respected felony review specialist for the Cook County State's Attorney's office; there is none better than Matt Medina to advise law enforcement on standards used by the prosecutor's office when making prosecutorial and probable cause warrant decisions.
The handbook gives a field officer all the information he needs to achieve the very difficult, but not impossible, balance between his law enforcement duties and a citizen's protections under the Fourth Amendment. The "Police Tip" sections alone---which are neatly spaced throughout the book---are in themselves worthy of supervisor shift roll-call reminders. Mr. Medina has a winner!
