Summary: Invisible Force/Cold War Thriller/Military History
Comment: This is a very well written book about a number of things that took place during the Cold War Era. This involves Strategic Reconnaissance in the late 1950's. One RB-47 was shot down by the Soviets. Several of the crew died. Several different stories come from our own government. More versions of the same incident come from the Russians. The author provides compelling evidence that shows the high possibility that the Pilot, Willard Palm was killed deliberately. It is your desision to make after reading this book. The events are true. The author has invested what looks to be a lifetime in gathering documents, interviews,US government documents and even Russian transcripts of the shoot down. His position is very well researched. It is hard to believe our government would not give the families of the missing and or dead the true story regarding what happened that day. The Russians watched the efforts of the 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing and the 343rd Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron closely. The Electronic Warfare Officers (EWO's) or Raven's were under close watch. Even worse it is complicated by two spies defecting to Cuba from the National Security Agency. This story is very interesting for those interested in our Elint & Comint operations. I highly recommend this book for history buffs. This is not the same Ed Parker who writes martial arts books.

Summary: Not by Edmund Parker (Kenpo Master)
Comment: While this book is probably very interesting, it is not what I was looking for. I did a search on the name Ed Parker instead of Edmund Parker (Kenpo Karate founder). This book is not about karate, but about military espionage. It is specificaly about the shooting down of a US spy plane in the 1960's.
