Other than Sensie Soshin Nagimine's book, this is the only book in English that I have have found on Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu. A student of Sensei Nagamine, Sensei Ota gives insightful interpretation to the katas, karate history and training tradition. I also found Sensei Ota's dvd on makiwara and conditioning useful, though a digital rendering of a vhs.
