Very few books have been written about Arnis, and no serious work on the subject had delved deep into the mystical past of the fighting system which had evolved from so many parts of the Philippine archipelago. This book is not about to fill that missing historical synthesis. It rather attempts to provide its readers, by way of presenting Arnis in its traditional styles had in hand with its modern day modifications, an initial glimpse of the Martial Art's contemporary concepts, principles, and applications. Another indigineous Filipino martial art system utilizing the 'Balisong' (fan knife) is also presented here at a significant length.
