Summary: Good book
Comment: This book has all you need to refreash your memory from White to Blue belt. The photos in this book leave out some important details, so having proper instruction is key to realy undertsanding this form of martial art. Not to mention , if you join a local school, you get all the books at the original cost.
The book includes History of KSW as well as the history of Korea and how martial arts started in Korea. The life of Kuk Sa Nim and how he transformed several techniques and forms into one art is great. He describes his history there as well.
If you are not a KSW student some of the material in this book will be vague. Price ranging between 70 to 100 dollars will be common.
Please read all the warnings and take care not to hurt your partner.

Summary: In Hyuk Suh wrote an excellent resource
Comment: It is a given that one can not truly learn a martial art from a book, and it is the same with this book, that you can not learn Kuk Sool Won from it. That does not mean that this is not a valuable resource. This book makes an excellent study aide that will greatly advance your own learning when taking the art and if, for some reason, you are forced to not be able to take classes (due to location or finances) this book can help you retain what you had previously learned.
It's scope is, by necessity, limited. It only covers up to Red Belt, and does not go farther. For the more advanced techniques, one must get the second volume, that can only be purchased through the classes themselves.
As is, this book combined with my personal practices, are the only things keeping my skills from deteriorating while I am between instructors.

Summary: Excellent reference for students from white to blue belt
Comment: Being a Kuk Sool practitioner, I can vouch for the importance of this book. It's excellent for reference, although I would not recommend trying to learn from it. It contains techniques and forms required at White, Yellow and Blue belt levels. Higher level belt information (in the latter textbooks) can only be bought once that level is achieved through a school. Also contained is information on etiquette, Kuk Sool history, Ki exercises, conditioning exercises, breakfalls, striking methods, the list goes on...A must buy for any serious Kuk Sool practitioner.

Summary: Kuk Sool Guide
Comment: Throughout my training in Kuk Sool, i have used this book exensively and many times it has proven very useful. I recommend any practitioner of Kuk Sool to buy this book. People who do not train in Kuk Sool will not find this book of much help, but those of you who are thinking of joining can use this book as a reference of things to come.
