Summary: The first, the best, the UFC
Comment: this boxed set was my first step into UFC and it was worth it. the first five tournaments you will see a progression of fighters abilites as well as some great fights. back then, the ufc still had no weight classes so you could (and will) see a 600 lb man fight a 200 lb man. all sorts of style vs style matches, david vs goliath, plus you will see the start and "end" of the shamrock-gracie rivalry. definitely a worthwhile buy.

Summary: What a tournament
Comment: This is a great set.The UFC in 1-5 was raw and at its best nearly anything went.It shows the Great Royce Gracie steam role through it untill UFC 4 introduces Dan severn. This shows the technique of fighters and the brutalness this definately is a buy worth while in my view.As a Jiu-Jitsu fan i love seeing royce fight and take out the larger men.I advise this buy to anyone who wants too see fighting at its best

Summary: A start of a legend
Comment: If you haven't experienced UFC before, then this is a good way to go. The first 5 are the most brutal of all UFC (with the possible exclusion of Ultimate Ultimate 2).

These are as close as you can get to a normal street fight.

The real stuff before they changed all the rules to become 'safe'. Now the UFC is almost a sport.

Summary: Absolutely Astonishing
Comment: These videos are nothing short of amazing. Being a martial artist myself, I know good fights when I see them. Fighters from all around the world compete in no holds barred competition, and might I just say, it gets very brutal. Teeth flying, blood-galore, and many more injuries. Each fighter has his own unique style (i.e. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kenpo, Greco-Roman Wrestling etc..)Each video puts you on the edge of your seats, and makes sure you stay there. If you want real competition with real fighting, these are the videos for you. I also recommend you check out the Pride videos, which are quite similar to UFC.

Summary: Bloody, gory, and tells a story!
Comment: If you watch the whole series, it tells a real story. In UFC 1: The Beginning, Ken Shamrock fights Gracie. Ken Shamrock was viewed as a punk kid, and not much was known about him. The ref was an unskilled moron, and the commentators weren't very good, either.

In UFC 2, we see a vengeful Pat Smith send a few people to the hospital. The fights are fast, furious, and action-packed. This one is the fiercest UFC's to date, and I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking brutality on videotape. John McCarthy takes over for that moron from UFC 1.

In 3-4, we see the UFC change to allow more challenging alternates, closer matches, and last, but not least, the permanent induction of Big John McCarthy into the UFC. Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie are looking for a rematch, but it never happens for one reason or another.

In UFC 5, Ken Shamrock's popularity is peaking, and we have really gotten to know him. Royce Gracie bows out of the competition in exchange for a rematch with Ken Shamrock, creating the first superfight in UFC history. Without the worry of having fought earlier opponents, Ken and Royce face off in the best of conditions. Also, on this one, you will see Dan Severn earn his title as "The Beast", and Guy Mezger enter the UFC for the first time in his first qualifying match.

All in all, this boxed set is great. You get some hard hits with an interesting true life story to boot. Most importantly, you will see what the UFC was like before censorship intervened and removed some of its early greatness.
