Summary: Reasonable plastic kettle, 6" power cord
Comment: The facilities team at work removed our hot water taps and installed a single cup coffee/tea system. So I went to Amazon to find an office kettle so that I can brew tea in more efficient volumes than cup by cup. I've used electric kettles for a long time, from Sunbeam, Bodum, and Cuisinart. I thought I would try this Braun model, instead of getting another stainless steel Cuisinart.
The kettle is fine. It brings water to boiling rapidly. Being a plastic kettle, it has an initial odor that should clear after washing and some test boils.
Unfortunately, you'll need to order a 3' - 6' extension cord as well, as Braun has inexplicably attached a six inch power line, which is so short as to be useless. If you are comparison shopping, add six or so dollars for an appliance extension cord that you might not need with other models. (Braun: it would cost you how many cents to make this a 2' - 3' cord? Please fix.)

Comment: Boils a cup in a few seconds! Great kettle!
Pros: As it has a 360 degree base you can replace kettle on base at any position! Boils very fast! Nice handle. Very light in weight. The electric cord an be retracted into the base. Does the job!

Comment: I am extremely pleased with my purchase, having previously used the same product/model for seven years until the on/off switch wore out. I use the item throughout the day for tea and coffee and when I want instant hot water. I was most fortunate finding it on the amazing Amazon site. Thank you for the opporunity to share my opinion. Comment: I had one of these Braun kettles in Australia - I liked it so much that I bought the same kettle when I came over to the States. All my American friends quiz me on this strange appliance in the kitchen;
"What is that?"
"Why it's a kettle of course."
"What's it for?"
"To boil water. Every house has one in Australia and the UK."
"Why don't you just use the stove?"
"Cos it takes forever!!"
I've used many kettles back home; this one is definitely the best I've ever owned. Very fast boilup. Automatic off function so you can't boil it dry. Light weight and cordless. Look no further - 5 Stars.
