Customer Rating: Summary: Great for the Tae Bo Beginner! Comment: If you've never done Tae Bo, this would be a GREAT place to start. Begin with Foundation where Billy Blanks takes his time teaching you all the moves and the proper way to do them. I had to learn what I could from the "Instructional" tape from the late 90's and it pales in comparison to Foundations. After you master the moves, then you go on to Energy, a 45 minute workout. It's intense enough for someone who isn't used to Tae Bo or is recently getting themselves off the couch. This work out is NOT for someone who is buff and looking for something to do on a cold, winter day. It will not challenge you. I've only been doing Tae Bo for about 9-10 mos and typically do the original Basic workout and add on the 8 minute workout to the end to give it a boost (the advanced is still too much for me). I thought I'd try Foundations/Energy, but Energy was still a bit too instructional. Don't get me wrong, you still get a work out and will break a sweat, but it isn't as intense a work out as I'm used to with the Basic + 8 minute workout together. Again, this is PERFECT for the person new to Tae Bo OR someone who is trying to become more active.
Customer Rating: Summary: Basic, Beginner Workout Comment: I found this video to be too easy- I think that intermediate to advanced exercisers would want something more. Billy takes too long 'previewing' the moves and the actual 'Energy' parts (fast, to tempo) are too short. I sweat a lot more doing my other videos, including Turbo Jam and the Firm. I do see how it could be a good video for beginners, though.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beginners, please read!! Comment: If you are a beginner, you want Billy Blanks' Tae-Bo - Instructional Workout, Basic, Advanced, 8-Minute Workout (1999)
As for this (Foundation/Energy) its great if you've been doing Tae Bo for a while. Honestly, this is a great set!!! Just be sure you start out with the right DVDs.
Customer Rating: Summary: Hey, are you falling over? Comment: I've owned three other Billy Blanks workouts in the past, and while I had fun doing them, I had trouble balancing. I finally bought this DVD so I could go through and learn the moves slowly and get the footing right. I'm really glad I did! Even though you'll only need to use the Foundation segment once to get the moves down, it's definitely worth owning. I could tell the difference the very next time I worked out with one of my other tae bo DVDs. And the Energy section is a good workout that you can do over and over. I totally recommend this compilation for tae bo beginners (or people like me who were still falling all over the living room).
Customer Rating: Summary: Starting with the basics Comment: This foundation workout is very good at teaching the basics of Tae Bo. I highly recommend it for anyone who is just getting started.
