Customer Rating: Summary: Should have listened to fellow reviewers Comment: I've been a "Tae Bo-er" off and on for the past 10 years; I have a library of tapes/DVDs I'll use when I can't run or need an "easier" workout/change of pace. I try to keep updating because I get bored easily-I hate when I have the workout memorized. I saw these reviews and was hoping it was just a difference of opinion and purchased anyway (on ebay, way cheaper).
This is TERRIBLE! My issues w/it:
1. It's labeled as "cardio" and I've barely broken a sweat.
2. Circuit training? What circuit? Billy threw some labels on the screen identifying an "upper body circuit", "lower body circuit", and "abdominal circuit" and considers it circuit training. At no point during any "circuit" did I feel a "burn" in any of the targeted areas (and, yes, I've done Tae Bo enough to have great form and know how to get the most out of every move).
3. I can't tell you how many times Billy stopped mid-set.....
4. Few of the exercises in the focus area in the circuit really isolated that area.
This is really disappointing....I feel like I just wasted 35 minutes (it's actually longer, but I couldn't take it anymore and stopped to finish w/my own workout) and got a crappy workout. This will def be listed on ebay soon; so if you're thinking of buying-check there first! I'm sure you'll find lots of cheap used copies!
I guess this may be ok for someone just starting working out, but I've never seen it marketed towards "beginners".
Customer Rating: Summary: Good, steady workout Comment: For beginners this workout will probably be a challenge (as all Billy's workouts) You definitely need to know the moves to avoid injuring yourself as Billy gives no instruction on how to do them. However, you will be able to catch on to the moves if you take it slowly a few times through. The reason I like this workout is because Billy rotates between upper body, lower body, and abs. None of the moves are difficult and if you have done Tae Bo before, the moves are basically the same. You will definitely feel the benefits of this workout if you do it regularly. The warm up in this workout is shorter than usual and there is virtually no cool down other than some Tai Chi moves Billy always does at the end of his workouts.
For intermediate or advanced users, this workout is not really challenging if you have done Tae Bo before. As I said, I like it because of the workout rotation between body parts. I own about 20 Tae Bo workouts, and I like to throw this one in once in a while because of its variety. However, it is relatively easy if you are in good shape and even though it keeps your heart rate elevated, I don't feel like I'm getting a real intense workout.
Customer Rating: Summary: Finally A Tae Bo Workout I Can Actually Do! Comment: I have been interested in Billy Blanks' Tae Bo and have tried different workouts by him off and on for the past five years, but they have always been too "frantic" for my taste. While some people may prefer the rapid pace of CC Vol. 1, this workout is the more controlled of the two. Don't get me wrong, you still get to go crazy on the side kicks, knee pulls, etc., but you build up to the faster pace and there is more recovery time in between (although not so much that my heart rate dropped.) Billy is also very inspirational as well as motivational; he doesn't just talk about getting rock-hard abs on the outside, he talks about how important it is to become the person we want to be on the inside as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tae Bo Fan Comment: I have been working out with Billy since his first set of videos came out in '98. I have well over 20 tapes and dvds. I have to comment on the reviewer who was so worried about form and jerky movements. You can't start/learn Tae Bo with a video like this. Billy has plenty of instructional videos to learn technique and build strength and then you move on to longer, tougher workouts. Don't judge Tae Bo without knowing the history of this great program.
Customer Rating: Summary: the life saver workout!I love Billy Blanks' Comment: I love Billy Blanks' Cardio circut work out. Before I started to use this product, I was constanly tired and never motivated. Now I am always on beat and ready to take on anything. My life has changed in so many ways just by getting up and working out. It's amazing how having a little more energy and confidence will change your life so dramaticaly.
Billy Blanks' Cardio work out will help you work out your cardio system and it will also give you the strenth and confidence to continue to stay successful in your weight loss goals.
