AIKIDO is an art formulated in the 1930s by Morihei Uyeshiba. He took elements of several Japanese arts including wrestling and fencing and combined them with his own philosophical outlook to create one of Japans most popular arts. The underlying principle of this art is non-resistance, using the opponents own energy to unbalance or throw him and follow-up with a lock or a strike.
