Comment: This morning my CHI simply would not turn on, even after pressing the reset button and trying multiple outlets. I'm returning it to amazon and going back to the FHI iron. (I've had a FHI for 2.5 yrs and while it is still working fine, wanted a new one on hand in case it dies one of these days.) I would not recommend the CHI.

Comment: I went to a beauty store and asked about a good hair straightener. The man suggested the Chi Turbo. I found this on amazon so I decided to purchase it. The first few days it worked well, after that it damaged my hair! I used thermo hair shield spray and everything. It broke the strands of my hair and now my hair is different lengths. My stylist said that the product ruined my hair. After using it for awhile the heat doesn't straighten out the waves and I eventually threw it away. The same thing happened to my friend when she bought one!
Don't waste your money on this product just because its a Chi. I rather get a good one from Sephora.

Summary: good for thick "mature" hair
Comment: I'm well over 40 and thought flat irons were for younger women... I was wrong! i have very thick, 'big" hair that I am growing longer... the Chi tames it and compacts it which has been great during this growing out phase. any day i use it is a good hair day. highly recommend. it doesn't only make it straight -- you can bend and curve with it. but it does make it smooth, which is a good thing for my course hair.
