Summary: Dragonball GT
Comment: This was a really great anime series. I liked the theme music even though it took me a while to get used to it. The storylines are great. Like it's predecessor Dragonball Z, the stories can sometimes be a bit drug out. But like Dragonball Z the series certainly does make up for it with a lot of action and suspense. This series also ends on a high note with Goku seeming more like a Japanese version of Superman. Hey, like Superman they even made a statue of Goku to show how extraordinary of a character he is.

Comment: Dragon Ball Z Owning the Anime Sales Charts
Dragon Ball Z Season One the number one anime seller year-to-date

According to analysis of Nielsen Video Scan sales data the company?s Dragon Ball Z Season One release is the best-selling anime video release to date in 2007.

In February, we released Dragon Ball Z Season One, a digitally remastered and restored collection of the first 39 episodes known as the Vegeta Saga. The season set, priced at $49.98, has taken the anime sales charts by storm. Nielsen Video Scan data shows that the Dragon Ball Z Season One sales is the top of the anime sales charts, despite only three months of sales. Dragon Ball Z season set sales have also helped FUNimation increase the company's position as the market share leader in the U.S. anime industry.

The next set, Dragon Ball Z Season Two, will release next Tuesday, May 22, and includes the entire Namek and Ginyu sagas (35 episodes). The Dragon Ball Z Season Two set will also have the $49.98 price tag and it will be the first time the Namek saga has been released on DVD.

Comment: I'm a hardcore DBZ fan, but watching the first episodes of GT was utterly disappointing. Seriously.. just avoid this series.

Summary: DBGT does not do anything good for DBZ at ALL!
Comment: I love Dragon Ball Z, and some of Dragon Ball (when Goku was a kid). Now DBGT, oh come on, now this is not entertainment. Everybody seems weak (except the two guys who made DBZ what it is today Goku and Vegeta).

10 reasons why it is not worth it (I mean the whole series of DBGT)

1.Don't start off good. I mean we should have been able to see the training sessions between Goku and Uub. They started the series when the training was over.
2.Pathetic Bad Guys, except I thought Super 17 was somewhat cool.
3.Not enough action
4.Pan is older now and she has turned into such a snob. How rude can she really be, I mean if I was Goku I would have tought her a lesson. How did Goku handle those hateful things she said to him, later in the series.
for Example: In the Dragons Saga, when their fighting the first evil Shenron, after he is defeated, they get the Dragon Ball and Goku accidentally drops it back in the dark polluted water that the dragon of pollution made, and both Goku and Pan refuse to go in, Giru retrieves it, and then Pan says to Giru, wow Giru your braver then grandpa, and then all Goku has to say is Gee Thanks. Not to mention she is very hateful toward that robot Giru, she should have been nicer, all she's basically been doing is pounding him to a pulp.
4.Fusion is weak in this series not anything like fusion was in dragon ball z (Gotenks and Vegito were basically controlling the universe, they were unstoppable). Not in this they still get their buts kicked.
5.Everyone is basically weak in this (especially Piccolo and Trunks), but Goku and Vegeta still have some fight left in them after all these years, so I guess they are still pretty cool.
6.The english dubb is nothing compared to the original Japanese version. I liked somethings said on the subtitles of the japanese version better then the english.
7.Some Z warriors from DBZ have retired from fighting or are just too lazy to fight anymore.
8.The series should have had more episodes, not just 64, DBZ had about 300 episodes or so, and DB had like 100 and something, so this series should have had at least 150 - 200 episodes.
9.The jokes are not funny, and mostly everything that is meant to be funny ends up being embarassing instead.
10.If you think about it, it gets very expensive as you try to collect the whole series, they should release it in season box sets like they are recently doing with Dragonball Z.

Summary: This killed the DB franchise.
Comment: DBZ is a pretty good action series. Good characters, good storyline, humor, and long good battles. DBGT gives you none of those. Nothing seems right here. The plot is just trash. Kid Goku, Trunks and Pan are the main characters for the most part. Pan is very annoying from almost the start and that damn robot that she finds makes me scramble for the fast forward button. But thats not all the horrible things that plague this series. As someone else noted; Goku and Vegeta are the only strong ones and everyone else is weak. Goten, Trunks and Gohan(especially) were interesting as kids. Now their so bland. Gohan is the biggest disappointment. Remember how the fusion was almost the invincible technique? Vegito and Gotenks were almost unstopable. Then why is Majuub so weak? The reincarnation of Kid Buu fused with Majin Buu is so pathetically weak, I don't understand this. The ascension to super saiyan of all levels was one of the best events. But SS4 wasn't. It was long, boring, annoying and too many filler episodes. Now the villains, Baby is the most uninteresting badguy in all of DB nuff said.
Bottomline this boxset is not worth the money unless your a diehard fan. Truthfully, looking back at the Saiyan, Frieza, Cell, and Buu sagas, this really isn't nothin' at all.
