Editorial Reviews:

The world famous Medium-format wonder! A cult favorite with a fanatical global following, the Holga produces extraordinary low-tech works of art with the bare minimum of mechanical function. Soft focusing, full double-exposure capability, intense vignetting, and unpredictable light leaks all contribute to the Holga's incredible photo effects. Each Holga is unique and produces signature images and peculiarities of its own. Buy several and throw some wood on your creative fire! Uses 120 film.

Summary: The Holga
Comment: The Holga is a medium format camera taking size 120 film. I has a single plastic lens and a plastic body with a shutter that is controlled by a single spring. It sounds like a piece of crap and it is. But you will be astonished that it will make such interesting photos and how creative you can be with it. Forget all you know about the technical side of photography when it come to the Holga. Just shoot and wind and be surprised by the results.

Summary: dissappointed!
Comment: I expected vignetting, light leaks, blurred edges, etc. that this camera is famous for, but the camera takes quite sharp images. It was only after purchase that I learned the manufacturer has recently tightened up on quality control, plugged the light leaks, and improved the plastic lens. I might as well just use my high-end digital Canon! ADDED-On this and many other web sites this camera is described as fixed focus, in truth the lens is fully focusable.

Summary: Fun
Comment: Great images, a fun take back to older times. This is a great camera for the professional photographer that just needs a break from it all. Just compose and shoot. One never knows what will happen.

Summary: Holga
Comment: This camera is great, but dont buy it if you are looking for a fancy camera! The Holga is the absolute bare basics- its quite literally the simplest camera ever. You should only buy this if you know and are expecting that...but the Holga is an awesome way to simplify your process and toss away the frills

Summary: very cool but.....
Comment: so i got this camera to toss in my bag and use for fun. i've been shooting for several years now and am well aware of basic concepts of photography (e.g. aperture, shutter-speed, film speed, as well as film and print development etc). my first roll was completely washed out. i was pretty upset, i had a lot of great pictures on that roll and they were gone, huge bummer. i haven't used it since. the thing that blew me away was that two of the pictures developed, the rest were completely blank. while i assume it was something i did i couldn't pin-point what it was and still have no clue. i'm going to stick with my trusty 35mm, hope you have better luck than i did.
