Summary: Atkins Diet Book review
Comment: This is the second book I purchased (gave the first one away) this diet (if you can call it a diet) is great! The book showed me how to lose a lot of weight fast and I have kept it off for several years, I use it for reference now with the recipes and lifetime maintenance being referred to regularly. I first purchased it because my doctor said my blood sugar and cholesterol were border line high, after following the program closely for several months, I have brought those numbers down considerably. With regular exercise I am able to increase my carb intake to a very comfortable level and enjoy many of the foods that most people say I cannot. The most amazing thing is what with cutting all sugar and bad carbs my energy level is easily twice what it used to be!
I highly recommend this book.
Summary: A LIFESTYLE CHANGE! THE ONLY "DIET" THAT WORKS!
Comment: In the past several years, I tried low fat diets and low calorie diet of about 1100 calories per day. Yes, I lost weight, but in a few months, gained it back and even more pounds to boot! Also, to me, these low fat and low calorie diets are hard to follow because you stay hungry and feel deprived all the time, hence, you go off them and gain the lost weight plus some. This is my second go around on this diet (in several years time) and I already lost some weight and feeling much better. And yes, I am an avid believer of the Dr Atkins low carb diet, I bought the newer cookbook for Atkins with his wife Veronica Atkins and because of this, I am able to STAY with the LOW CARB (Under 20 carbs a day) with no problem. I find I do have a lot of energy and I am losing weight very successfully with the Atkins Diet. I am still losing a lot of weight and am so pleased. In addition, I am making myself 2 low carb Whey Protein shakes per day (only 3 carbs per scoop and 25 grams of protien per serving) and this helps me with my continued weight loss. Also, I am walking each day for 25 minutes a day and doing light weight training for 10 minutes per day with 5 pound weights on each side. Hence I have already lost 4-5 pounds of fat loss per week, and I have gained more muscle mass. Another suggested book is Protien Power by Michael R. Eades and Mary Dan Eades, who are from my home state, Arkansas. (I just bought this book due to high reviews on Amazon). And, also, another great book is Drs. Eades newer book 30 Days of Low Carb by them also. Of course, my favoite low carb book is this one by the late and great Dr. Atkins.
