Based on a series of TRUE stories posted by Kim Ho Sik on the Internet describing his relationship with his girlfriend. These stories were later transformed into a best-selling book and a movie follows the book closely. It describes the meeting of Kyun-woo (Cha) and an unnamed girl. Kyun-woo is shamed into assisting the girl because the other passengers mistakenly think she is his girlfriend. Once he helps her, Kyun-woo develops a deep sense of responsibility for her which enables him to tolerate (somehow) the girls abuses.

Summary: Deleted Scenes
Comment: The movie came one day before I expected it to. I can not complain about anything else because I'm almost sure these people hopefully did not produce the DVD themselves. This movie is a bit different than what you can find on youtube etc. There ARE deleted scenes. It DOES make the movie LESS enjoyable. But you can watch the deleted scenes in the extras on the DVD. Chinese audio only works for deleted scenes. It is funnier in Korean anyway. Perfectly good movie for a fair price.

Summary: This is one of the golden films that stands out in an era of media.
Comment: As I am not such a fan of romantic movies, I had no idea what to expect in this movie. Then, there came a day to watch it and so I did. I was struck. Not only was it the most romantic thing I ever saw, it was one of the funniest, sweet movie. Nowadays I still don't like romance too much but My Sassy Girl was different for me. It remains one of my most favorite today.
And for the English remake, I really did not like it as it felt like almost any other common romance films. I felt the directer (an amateur by the way) rushed the storyline and he made the environment so gloomy and the atmosphere lonely. However, its straight release to DVDs also explain the failure of the film project.

Summary: Worth Seeing
Comment: Some parts of this movie are a bit outlandish. But the basic love story is a good one, there's an interesting twist at the end, and the actress playing the title roll is fairly cute (although we don't see much of her cute figure). However, I would recommend to Americans that they get the 2008 American version with Elishu Cuthbert. I've seen both and you'll like the American version better.
