Customer Rating: Summary: Really Genius Comment: Real Genius was the 1st time I saw Val Kilmer. He is very funny. At a school for genius young people, you see how some of them cope with their skills. Val was once a very serious student & almost went brain dead. Now he copes by being a funny goof-off. I enjoyed the antics & behaviors that are brought out of these real genius's.
Customer Rating: Summary: movie Comment: it took awhile to ge in the mail but once it got it i was very happy!
Customer Rating: Summary: Genius of a film, but keep ad libs that follow the story Comment: The cast is fine in this smart comedy where 15 year old Gabe Jarrett comes to college to participate in a science project, not knowing its director(William Atherton) is using it to develop a secret weapon for the government. This lazer weapon can hit a human target from outer space.
I found some of the sexist humor to be distracting, i.e. one of the science students in the lab tells the other guys, "Let's go, girls!" and at the weapons testing site a female general commands attention from the brass who are running the project. Humor is welcome if it seems to have something to do with what is going on in the scene. Special effects and the hilarious popcorn scene were all worth watching again. Debbie Foreman from "Valley Girl" has a bit part and seems to have been taken off the major studio casting call list when she refused to wear a few less clothes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Val Kilmer Party Dude Comment: Val Kilmer is the ultimate party dude who happens to be a genius. Fun and crazy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Real Genius at a great price Comment: I've only seen Real Genius on cable television, so it was great seeing it in its original screen aspect. The movie is fun, somewhat intelligent, & worth the time to watch. Whether you're a Val Kilmer fan & haven't seen this movie or if you just haven't watched it in a while, this DVD movie is worth the price.
