Customer Rating: Summary: Inspiring biography of Chuck Norris Comment: Inner Strength is a well-written story of Chuck Norris' life. It talks of his time growing up, service as an MP in Korea and his training. The part about Korea is a story in itself. Norris becomes one of the Tang Soo Do brotherhood. (When a member was beaten and robbed by a gang, there was serious pay back.) I was surprised that when Chuck won the world karate championship, it was not that big of a deal, money wise. He still worked all day at a day job and ran his gym in the evening. There were business troubles and through the help of friends and refusing to take the easy, sleazy way out, he managed to save his name and school. There are also some interesting stories regarding the making of his early movies. Low budget meant more work on Chuck's part and dealing with the various situations at hand, like disruptive gang-member extras. Even if you do not like Chuck Norris and his films, the book is still a good read on how an ordinary guy build himself up to where he is today. You get to appreciate the persistence, self-sacrifice and endurance of the dedicated martial artist.
