Summary: No-nonsense workout
Comment: Because the workouts are only 20 minutes, and because they are easy to follow and very difficult - this has been the only workout video that I've been motivated enough to do regularly 3 times a week since purchasing it. I just tried Workout #2 and I can tell that once I get to the third workout, I will be shredded physically... the moves are simple: jumping jacks, pushups, squats, planks, etc.. and those are the moves that are tried and true for getting your body into shape. Others find Jillian annoying, but I think she is cute and good at motivating you to finish the last rep. I finally can do ONE real push-up (no knees) and that is a landmark for me in my fitness!! And I see real definition in my hamstrings - never have before!

I don't know what the "30-day" part of the title means, because in no way would I master Workout 1 in 30-days let alone the whole DVD!

Summary: Hard kick-butt workout
Comment: This is one kick-butt workout. It has to be hard to give you the promised results of losing 20 pounds in 30 days. I am 100 pounds overweight and barely ever workout and have been doing this workout for the last 3 days. It is hard!!! The first day I made it through not even 10 minutes of it and just sat and watched the rest, but I am already seeing an improvement in my strength and endurance. It is so easy to squeeze a 20 minute workout into my day and this workout really makes me feel like I have done something. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of results I have at the end of the month (even with the holidays). There are modified ways of doing the exercises for beginners and those who are more advanced. If you want a workout that will challenge you and get you results NOW then this is the DVD for you, but be warned it is hard. I love the circuits to this DVD (3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs). It's easier to get through because you can think the whole time I only have to do this one exercise for 1 minute or 30 seconds. This is make you hurt and you will feel it the next day. Good luck!

Summary: Feeling the difference after less than 2 weeks
Comment: I gave birth just slightly over 8 weeks ago and was anxious to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes so that I didn't have to buy anything for the winter season (I'm in Arizona, so I can hold out for a long time). I'm breastfeeding and in spite of watching what I eat, I have not and cannot decrease my calorie intake all that much. Consequently, dieting alone is not the answer for me. So I bought this video along with a couple of the biggest loser videos. I started out with the biggest loser videos for about 1 week, but it was Jillian's Shred video that really got me sweating. I've done the workout for 14 days, only taking 2 days off in that time. This workout, as many others have commented, is intense. The order of the exercises can really work certain muscle groups to exhaustion. The 3-2-1 concept is brilliant and Jillian's compound exercises, working more than one muscle group per exercise, really gives you a full workout. I've worked out for years and frankly nothing has made me sweat like this video. My husband, who is also extremely fit and been put through intense workouts as a result of his profession, has commented that he has never sweat like this before and that he never, ever expected such an amazing workout from a dvd. And while I haven't lost a single pound (and don't really expect to until I stop breastfeeding -- breastfeeding has not resulted in weight loss for me as it does for many moms)I am feeing much more toned all over. My lower abs are perhaps my weakest muscle and so when doing the ab exercises I do a bit of a modification so as not to strain the muscle. But other than that, everything else is completely within my capability. I don't think it is a video for someone completely new to exercise as it is really tough. Today I tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans and a pair of dress pants, and was able to get them on -- they are very tight, but I imagine after another 2 weeks of doing Jillian's workout I will be able to wear them comfortably. Thank you Jillian -- you are one tough cookie, but completely amazing!!!!

Comment: I used to use this work out until we changed our cable provider so when I found it here and for that price I had to jump on the deal BUT to my surprise I got the DVD in 2 business days! I couldn't believe it! Two tumbs way up from me!!!

Comment: I really love this DVD. I worked out before using it, but never pushed myself too hard. Jillian makes me want to work hard and push myself through the workout. Level 1 is probably too difficult for a beginner, but some movement modifications are shown throughout. Anyone who needs a good, tough workout, should use this DVD.
