Summary: Is Dan Henderson Good Enough to Beat Anderson Silva?
Comment: The favorite capital in "The Buckeye State" is host to UFC 82, and history is to be made. The main event is to be Anderson Silva's toughest opponent to date, as he takes on Pride champion, Dan Henderson. He took his chances at Light Heavyweight, fighting Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, and losing by unanimous decision at UFC 75. So now he's moving down to his natural weight, Middleweight to try and take the title from Anderson Silva, a man who's only taken out Rich Franklin twice! Henderson's thoughts? "I'm going to kick his ass." Enough said?

The co-main event features 2 fighters that want to go further up the Heavyweight ladder to eventually fight for that Heavyweight belt. And Heath Herring and Cheick Kongo are ready to get after it in a serious way! Heath Herring's thoughts, "He really isn't bringing anything to the table that I haven't seen." At some of Herring's thoughts, Cheick Kongo can only laugh, but he can also say one thing. "Lets get it on!" Those are fighting words, and these 2 are ready for a scrap!

A bunch of great names on this card, but some of the fights had to be preliminary. We have the return of a champion, and the final fight for a great champion. All in all, there are 10 fights. I'll list them below.

Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson: For sure, Halverson wants this fight to go longer than 19 seconds, because he lost that fight. Well, this goes to a unanimous decision in a good battle.

Diego Sanchez vs. David Bielkheden: David, from Sweden, has a wealth of experience. But is it enough against a "Nightmare" like Diego Sanchez? This ends near the end of the first round.

Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett: These two love to bring it, especially Koscheck, who's more than "just a wrestler" since the original Ultimate Fighter. Ends with a nice TKO in round 2.

Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti: The good thing you can say about this is that the winner fought a smart fight. And it earned him a unanimous decision.

Andre Arlovski vs. Jake O'Brien: Arlovski was a great champion, and it was great while it lasted. But his performances of late have been anything BUT great, despite victory. And in saying that, if you've never seen a Jake O'Brien fight before, YOU ARE NOT MISSING ANYTHING!!! The good thing about this is that it ends in the 2nd round by TKO. This is Arlovski's final fight in the UFC.

Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson: Chris Wilson is a seasoned Team Quest veteran, but is it enough against opposition such as Jon Fitch? This goes to a unanimous decision. Good scrap!

Evan Tanner vs. Yushin Okami: The return of another champion in Evan Tanner! So how about taking on the likes of Okami for your first fight in a couple of years? 2nd round KO, and that's all I'm saying!

Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara: Two dudes that love to slug!! It ends with a first round TKO. What'd you expect?

Cheick Kongo vs. Heath Herring: Well, WOW! This gets a little crazy, to the point that it ends up being a split decision. Oh yeah!

Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson: What can I say? To be the best, you have to beat the best. It ends near the end of the 2nd round, and the best wears his belt!!

A good night of fights, so no real disappointment. Check it out!

Summary: Anderson Silva is an alien!
Comment: UFC just keeps getting better and better, and they deliver every time! UFC 82 features a middleweight championship fight between the champ Anderson "The Spider" Silva and Dan Henderson. Dropping down from LHW to Middleweight after losing the Pride belt to Rampage Jackson, Henderson puts his Pride middleweight belt on the line with Anderson Silva. "He's never fought anyone like me before" Henderson says before going to battle with the muay tai Brazilian killing machine. This fight doesn't make it to the end and was a great one while it lasted!

Also on the card is a fight between Heath Herring and Cheick Kongo with major title contentions. Kongo, coming off a huge win to Mirko Cro Cop looks to put another loss on Herrings record who was coming off his a loss to the current heavyweight champ Antonio Minotauro Nogueira. The fight goes all 3 rounds, is mostly a ground war, and a split decision is the outcome! An exciting fight to watch live, but I dont know how many times id want to see it.

The return of Evan Tanner was something for any diehard mma fan to take into consideration and watch with great interest. Coming out of a 2 year break, I was looking forward to Tanner to make his return. Too bad Okami is looking for a title shot and wont let Tanner walk through him. This fight let me down a little bit but the winner deserved it.

Talk about some great preliminary fights! Diego Sanchez, Josh Koshcheck, Luigi Fiovaranti, and Andrei Arlovski are all featured on fights and they were all great, although I believe a lot were mismatched.
