Editorial Reviews: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Basics During the early 1930s Helio Gracie, the mastermind of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, became Brazils first fighting legend. His first-born son, Rorion, began practicing this method of self-defense at the age of 2. In the late 70s, after graduating Law School at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rorion decided to bring his familys techniques to the United States.
