Editorial Reviews: Darrell Gholar, originally of Chicago Illinois, attended the University of Minnesota on a wrestling scholarship where he was named to the 1981 Freshman All-American team before becoming team captain his Junior and Senior years. Graduating in 1985 with a BA in world literature, Gholar continued to excel as a world-class wrestler as 3-time US Greco-Roman National Champion, 1988 Olympic team alternate and 1986 U.S. World team captain. As a professional fighter Darrell was 2000 World Vale Tudo Champion, middleweight champion before retiring in 2001. Presently, Darrell resides in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he has trained some of the top professional fighters in the world at the Brazilian Top Team Academy as Wrestling Coach for the likes of Mario Sperry, Ricardo Arona, Murilo Bustamante, the Nogueira brothers and Vitor Belfort, among many others.
